Top 5 things to do in Malmö 🇸🇪

We loved @malmotown for its unique blend between city & nature. Plus, it’s a great place to combine with a visit to Copenhagen. As they are only 30 mins by train from each other. Read below for more details & costs of activities👇🏼

1. Hire bikes to explore - Malmö is super bike friendly you can hire bikes from ‘Travelshop’ next to the train station (cost starting at 200sek/£15 per day).

2. Öresund Bridge Viewpoint - cycle out there as the ride is beautiful & it’ll give you a great view over the famous bridge connecting Sweden & Denmark.

3. Swedish Sauna - @ribersborgskallbadhus is located right on the ocean, making it such an idyllic spot. This one has a no swimwear or photos policy!! (Cost is 80sek/£6 per person).

4. @disgustingfoodmuseum - is such a quirky activity, but so fun if you’re into the weird & wonderful like us. (Cost is 220sek/£16 per person).

5. Malmö Castle - it’s worth stopping by here even if you don’t peep inside as the fortress itself is beautiful. The museum has a variety of exhibitions to choose from. (Cost is 100sek/£7.50 per person).

Take this as your sign!! 🇫🇮

Finland took us by surprise as we had no idea that we would fall in love with it as much as we did. It’s a bit of an underdog country, that we don’t think gets talked about too much (we’re sure Finns like it that way 😉). It’s such a mad country though, so amazingly beautiful, especially in winter!!

Our favourite moments from Finland👇🏼

🌲Walking through the snow covered forests, sometimes in knee/waist deep snow.
🥶 Cold plunges in frozen lakes in the Arctic Circle.
🎅🏻Visiting the home of the ‘real’ Santa & feeling the magic of Christmas all over again.
🧖🏼‍♀️ Sauna’s becoming part of our daily routine, “hey when are we having another sauna?”
❄️Going on a nature walk & stumbling across the literal frozen ocean that we could walk out on.
⚓️Visiting Suomenlinna island in Helsinki

3 YEARS OF THE NOMADS YOU KNOW 🥳

Hey, we’re Harry & Lydia, your nature lover budget travellers from the UK. Our story started quite conventionally when we met at University in 2016, but what came next, some might say was far from it.

It’s still hard to believe that our silly little idea to start this page, has grown into our own business & allowed us to continue living out our travel dreams to this day. The community we have here, is 100% what has kept us going over the last few years 💙

Here’s 5 things to know about us👇🏼

🎈We’re 1997 babies, both 26 years young.
🌮 Our shared favourite cuisine is Mexican, but we’re still yet to visit Mexico, hopefully this year…
🗺️ We’re both sooo close to visiting 50 countries, also planning on hitting that milestone in 2024.
👩🏽‍💻 We’ve never had a classic 9-5 type job. But we have worked A LOT of other jobs, some of the most fun ones including: Lifeguard/watersports instructor for Lydia & being a Steward at Chelsea FC for Harry.
🎵 Our music taste is quite similar, but Harry would pick Indie Rock as his fave & Lydia Folk/Country or anything ABBA haha!!

📌 Save for trip planning

1. Lithuania, Latvia & Estonia are much cheaper than the rest of Europe.

2. It’s a lot quieter here, with fewer tourists than other European countries.

3. It feels more off the beaten track, but not too much so that it becomes difficult to navigate. In fact, it’s really easy to get around each Baltic country either via train or bus.

4. The cities are unique & enchanting. They’re totally different to one another, yet still so intertwined & unlike other European cities we’ve visited before.

5. This region is highly underrated & overlooked. Which is crazy because it’s BEAUTIFUL here & full of nature spots.

6. The Baltic history is rich & fascinating, it is totally worth learning more about. The castles 🥹

7. The food is hearty & delicious (& very cheap!)

8. & finally the Baltics are great to visit all year round. With attractions bringing visitors in both summer & winter.

Was it worth the risk? 🥹

In our opinion, ABSOLUTELY! Flying over the frozen landscapes of the Arctic left us picking our jaws up off the floor, every single time.

But it’s true that your drone may struggle in sub zero temperatures. On our trip to the Arctic temps got down to -20°C. So if you do find yourself wanting to fly in those freezing conditions, here’s a few tips👇🏼

🚁Note that, different drone models will have varying temperature limits, so even before you fly it is worth researching what your drone’s recommended limit is.

🚁 Before flying, warm the battery up against your body to make sure it has some warmth to it before flying.

🚁 Test its capability first by hovering for a couple minute’s before continuing with your flight. This also helps warm the battery up.

🚁 Limit your time in the air, likelihood is that your battery will drain faster anyway (have spares to hand). So keep an eye on that to avoid unexpected crash landings.

🚁 Avoid moisture, we did fly whilst it was snowing on some occasions. But if you do choose to do this, make sure to dry your drone thoroughly afterwards.

🚁 Consider your distance of flight, it’s not the best idea to be flying long distances in sub zero’s because of all of the above.

We experienced one crash landing whilst shooting on the Icebreaker ship, fortunately the only injury was a slightly dented propeller, that we could easily swap out.

As always this year we’re keen to explore more of the natural world. Adventures that take us into nature are by far our favourite, here’s some destinations to add to your 2024 bucket list…

LAPLAND - stretching across the Nordics it is the ultimate winter wonderland. There’s something so magical about these frozen landscapes & the opportunity to spot the Northern Lights.

INNSBRUCK - Austria has plenty of nature on its doorstep. But Innsbruck really surprised us, especially as you can access the mountains so easily from the town.

WADI RUM - one of the most breathtaking places we’ve ever visited. Wadi Rum still lives rent free in our heads. Make sure to stay on a traditional Bedouin camp for an authentic experience.

LAKE BLED - Slovenia has so much natural beauty to explore. Lake Bled definitely has some of the bluest water, & some fantastic hiking opportunities.

SCOTTISH HIGHLANDS - you can’t go wrong with a trip to the Highlands. Whether it’s climbing Ben Nevis, chasing waterfalls or visiting places like Glencoe & Glen Nevis, nature is everywhere here.

AORAKI - our favourite place in the entire world! No matter where you go in New Zealand you’ll be guaranteed to find natural beauty, but Aoraki is something else entirely.

KOH TAO - definitely has some of the best beaches & clearest water we have ever seen. It remains our favourite island after visiting it multiple times over the years.
