The Norfolk Broads are Britain’s largest wetlands, home to a maze of stunning waterways and some of the country’s rarest wildlife.

The best way to explore the Broads is by renting a motor boat and spending a few days cruising through them. Imagine waking up on the water, amongst the countryside and mooring up to picturesque waterside pubs.

Here is everything you need to know for your own visit👇🏼

📍The Norfolk Broads are located in East Anglia, one of the UK’s most underrated corners and around 3 hours from London.

🚘 The best way to reach them is by driving yourself. However, you can get here by train from central London to Wroxham too.

📆 May - October is the ideal time to visit. However, we would avoid peak summer (July - August) as it can get very busy on the water.

⚓️ Renting a boat is easy and requires no prior license or experience. We have rented from Herbert Woods and Barnes Brinkcraft before.

💰 In the shoulder seasons you can find deals for as low as £140 per night. If there’s a group of you, it’s such a fun and relatively affordable adventure.

This route follows without a doubt our favourite corner of the UK. Home to some of the best and most iconic beaches in the country, dramatic coastal landscapes, the cutest villages and quintessential countryside. You don’t want to miss this!!

The best time of year for this road trip is Spring/Summer (April - August). Although, we’d avoid the peak summer months (July & August) as it gets hella busy down there.

🌊 DAY 1-5: DORSET
Highlights include: Old Harry’s Rocks, Golden Cap, Durdle Door, Man O’War Beach, Lulworth Cove, Corfe Castle, Shaftesbury, and Lyme Regis.

💦 DAY 5-8: SOUTH DEVON
Highlights include: Blackpool Sands, Slapton Sands, Prawle Point, Maceley Cove, Gara Rock, Salcombe, Snapes Point and Hope Cove.

🏖️ DAY 8-12: CORNWALL
Highlights include: Fowey, Kynance Cove, St Michael’s Mount, Mousehole, Porthcurno Beach, Sennen Cove, St Ives, Wheal Coates, Perranporth Beach and Crantock Beach.

💐 DAY 12-15: NORTH DEVON
Highlights include: Hartland Peninsula, Clovelly, Saunton Sands, Broadsands Beach, Berrynarbor, Valley of Rocks, Exmoor National Park and Lynton & Lynmouth.

🏰 DAY 15-18: CARMARTHENSHIRE
Highlights include: Pendine Sands, Laugharne & Castle, Morfa Bychan, National Botanic Garden of Wales, Carmarthen, Carreg Cennen Castle, Llandeilo and Llansteffan Beach.

Welcome to Durdle Door, a spectacular beach that could rival the Med, yet it’s on Dorset’s Jurassic Coast.

Things to know for your visit👇🏼

🌊 There is parking at Durdle Door, £12.40 for 4 hours and £20 all day. If you’d like some directions on alternative free parking, shoot us a message.

🌊 It is one of the UK’s most popular beaches, therefore it’s definitely best to arrive early to visit without crowds, especially during the summer months.

🌊 The best view of the archway is from the cliffs, looking back towards the ocean. There are lots of vantage points up here to grab some photos.

🌊 The walk down to the beach is steep and a bit slippery, so come prepared with some decent footwear to avoid spending more time on your arse haha!

🌊 Make sure to combine your visit to Durdle Door with a short coastal walk to the adorable village of Lulworth Cove too (it’s only a 30 minute stroll).
